Steps to Replace the Heating Element
Step 1: Safety First

- Turn Off Water Supply: If necessary, turn off the water supply to the dishwasher.
Step 2: Access the Heating Element
- Open the Dishwasher: Open the dishwasher door and remove the lower dish rack to gain clear access to the heating element.
- Locate the Heating Element: The heating element is typically found at the bottom of the dishwasher tub. If it is covered, remove any protective cover.
Step 3: Access the Heating Element’s Wiring
- Remove the Front Access Panel: The terminals of the heating element extend through the bottom of the tub. To access these terminals, remove the lower front access panel located beneath the dishwasher door. This panel is usually held in place with two screws either above or below the panel.
- Open the Door: Open the dishwasher door to access the screws holding the lower panel.

- Lift the Element Out: From inside the tub, lift the heating element out of its position.
Step 6: Install the New Heating Element
- Position the New Element: Position the new heating element over the holes in the tub and set it in place.
- Secure with Lock Nuts: From the lower access area, replace the lock nuts on the terminals and tighten them securely.
Step 7: Reconnect the Wires
- Reconnect the Wires: Attach the wires to the terminals of the new heating element, ensuring the connections match the labels or markings you made earlier.
Step 8: Reassemble the Dishwasher
- Reattach the Front Access Panel: Replace the lower front access panel by securing it with screws.
- Replace the Element Cover (if any): If there was a cover over the heating element, replace it.
- Replace the Lower Dish Rack: Put the lower dish rack back into the dishwasher.
